All arrested PTI members will join National Assembly session today: Barrister Gohar

All the arrested PTI members will be present in the National Assembly today, says party Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan.

Speaking to the media outside the Parliament House, Barrister Gohar had confirmed that Speaker Ayaz Sadiq had issued the production orders for the arrested PTI members.

Earlier, a PTI delegation, led by chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, successfully secured production orders for its arrested National Assembly members, after a meeting with Speaker Ayaz Sadiq.

The PTI delegation wet the the Speaker in his chamber and requested the release orders.

On the occasion, Gohar said: “You announced yesterday that production orders would be issued, but these have not yet been released to bring our arrested MNAs to the assembly. You made a verbal promise yesterday, and we are here today for the written orders.”

Meanwhile, National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq suspended the lower house of parliament’s Sergeant at Arms Muhammad Ishfaq Ashraf for four months.

According to an “office order” issued by the NA secretariat today, Sergeant-at-Arms (BPS-20) Muhammad Ishfaq Ashraf was suspended “with immediate effect for a period of 120 days”.

“During the period of his suspension, he will be entitled to draw pay and allowances as admissible under the applicable rules,” the order read.

Furthermore, the speaker also suspended four other security personnel for the said term.

The move comes a day after National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq announced to take action on the arrests made from the premises of the Parliament.
