Ameer Balaj Tipu murder case suspect gets bail
LAHORE: In a significant development in the Ameer Balaj Tipu murder case, the district and sessions court in Lahore on Saturday approved bail plea of a suspect, Malik Sohail Mahmood.
Additional Sessions Judge Allah Dutta granted the bail and ordered Mahmood’s release on a surety bond of Rs100,000.
Mahmood, also known as Sohail Awan, had been accused of facilitating a meeting between Ahsan Shah and Teefi Butt, who are implicated in the murder case.
“If the accused is not wanted in any other case, then he should be released,” the court ruled.
On February 19, Balaj was shot dead in the Chuhng area of Lahore. The incident occurred during a wedding ceremony in a residential society where Balaj was attending as a guest.
An armed assailant opened fire on Balaj, critically injuring him. Despite efforts to save his life, Balaj succumbed to his injuries, prompting an investigation by the Chuhng police station.
