Arshad Nadeem is also my son: Neeraj Chopra’s mother pays heartwarming tribute
Neeraj Chopra’s mother has paid a heartfelt tribute to Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem, who created Olympics history.
Mother showed great gesture despite her son Neeraj, who was the defending champion in the competition, bagged silver medal in the event felling a couple of meters short to Arshad’s record-breaking throw.
“I am happy with the silver, the guy who got gold (Arshad Nadeem) is also my child,” Saroj Devi shared her thoughts on social media.
“Everyone goes there after doing a lot of hard work,” she concluded.
It is worth mentioning here that Chopra secured the silver medal with a best throw of 89.45 meters. Despite his best efforts, Chopra was unable to record a legal throw beyond his initial attempt.
On the other hand, the Pakistani athlete secured gold medal with a throw of 92.97m. Grenada’s Anderson Peters took home bronze, his first ever Olympic medal, with an 88.54m throw.
