Ayushmann Khurrana quits movie with Kareena Kapoor for THIS reason

06 August, 2024 19:16

Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana has reportedly withdrawn from director Meghna Gulzar’s upcoming film ‘Daayra’, which was set to star him alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan.

The movie, based on the 2019 Hyderabad rape suspects encounter case, was expected to begin production in the second half of 2024.

However, Khurrana’s packed schedule, including his US music tour and other film commitments, has led to his exit from the project.

According to sources close to the actor, Khurrana’s team has informed the production team of his unavailability, and Gulzar is now searching for a suitable replacement.

Ayushmann Khurrana’s schedule includes his music tour, as well as films like ‘Border 2’, a spy comedy directed by Aakash Kaushik, and a horror-comedy with Rashmika Mandanna, directed by Aditya Sarpotdar.

Kareena Kapoor Khan, who was set to star alongside Khurrana in ‘Daayra’, remains attached to the project. She will next be seen in Rohit Shetty’s ‘Singham Again’, reprising her character from the previous film.

Gulzar, known for her critically acclaimed films like ‘Raazi’, ‘Chhapaak’, and ‘Sam Bahadur’, had brought together Khurrana and Kapoor Khan for the first time in ‘Daayra’.
