The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the rankings of Test players.

New Zealand’s Kane Williamson remains number one in the ICC Test batsmen rankings, English cricketer Joe Root at number two while Pakistan’s Babar Azam is third in the rankings.

England’s Harry Brooke moved up 3 places to 7th and England’s Zac Crowley moved up 3 places to 13th.

India’s Ravichandran Ashwin remains number one among Test bowlers.

England’s James Anderson ended his Test career at number 8 while Shaheen Afridi is at number 9 in the Test bowling rankings.

India’s Ravindra Jadeja remains number one in Test all-rounders.

Earlier, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has said that no decision has been taken yet to remove Babar Azam as a captain.

The PCB chief  while speaking to the media in Lahore said that the former cricketers will decide on changing the captain.

“Those who cannot bear the pressure, will not have a place in the national team. No one wants to make a decision in anger, as hasty decisions are always wrong,” Naqvi told reporters.

I have not met with Babar Azam and Wahab Riaz after the World Cup, the PCB chief said and added the aim of national team surgery is not to abuse anyone.

The chairman said that Gary Kirsten, Jason Gillespie and Azhar Mehmood have been invited to Pakistan. The three coaches will highlight the mistakes made in the World Cup.

According to Naqvi, it is not possible to host the Test series against Bangladesh in Lahore. Venues against Bangladesh include Multan, Karachi and Rawalpindi, he added.
