Babar Azam has resigned from the captaincy of the national white ball cricket team.

Babar Azam wrote in his resignation that he is ready to play the role and fulfill the responsibility as a player after leaving the captaincy and also wants to focus on his performances.

“I have informed the PCB and the team management about this last month. It has been an honour for me to lead this team but the time has come for me to step down as captain and focus on my game,” he further wrote.

“The experience of captaincy has been very rewarding but it also comes with a lot of responsibility. I want to prioritize my performance, enjoy batting and spend time with family and all this makes me happy,” he added.

Babar said that stepping down as captain will help him move on and focus his energy on improving the game and be able to focus more on individual development.

“Thank you all for your continued support and belief, your enthusiasm means a lot to me. I am proud of what we have achieved together,” he told fans.

It should be noted that Babar Azam was leading the ODI team of the national team currently.
