The bodies of Pakistanis pilgrims killed in Iran accident were repatriated to Pakistan late on Friday via special aircraft at the Shahbaz Airbase in Jacobabad.

The footages aired by state television PTV showed ambulances at the airport as the C-130 plane carrying the bodies of the victims landed in Sindh city.

The heirs of the deceased along with Sindh Minister for Planning, Development and Energy Syed Nasir Hussain Shah were present at the airbase.

It is worth mentioning here that a bus carrying Pakistani pilgrims met with an accident in the city of Yazd, Iran, killing at least 35 people and injuring.

According to Iranian media, the bus of Pakistani pilgrims overturned in front of Dehshir-Taftan check point after which the bus caught fire.

As a result, 35 people were killed and 20 injured in the accident. A total of 53 pilgrims were on board the bus.

Iranian media say that rescue teams are busy removing the injured and dead bodies from the bus, while an emergency has been declared in hospitals after the accident.

Earlier, a spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said that based on the United Nations Charter, Iran has the right to defend its security and territorial integrity, so it is an unreasonable request to expect Tehran to show restraint.

Spokesman Nasser Kanaani said in a weekly briefing that the Gaza ceasefire has nothing to do with Iran’s response to Israel. Iran has continuously welcomed the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and the truce is an international demand and the killings that have been going on for 10 months must stop.
