PSX Ends Higher as KSE-100 Index Gains Nearly 1000 Points

10 July, 2026 17:55

The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) ended higher on Friday as investors continued buying shares after positive economic news.

The benchmark KSE-100 Index closed at 182,241.77 points, gaining 982.10 points, or 0.54%, by the end of the trading session.

Strong buying was seen in automobile, cement, banking, fertilizer, oil and gas, oil marketing, and power sector stocks. Major companies, including HUBCO, MARI, OGDC, PPL, NBP, and UBL, finished the day in positive territory.

Investor confidence was boosted after Pakistan recorded $41.6 billion in workers’ remittances during the 2025-26 fiscal year, the highest annual total in the country’s history.

Market sentiment also improved after the World Bank approved $375.9 million for Pakistan’s Grid Stability Enhancement Project to strengthen the country’s electricity transmission system.

The gains came after a mixed trading session on Thursday, when the market recovered from early losses caused by rising tensions in the Middle East but still ended slightly lower.
