Pakistan’s IT sector has achieved record export earnings, with IT exports reaching $4.5 billion in the 2025–26 fiscal year.
The figure is about 29% higher than the $3.475 billion recorded in the previous fiscal year, showing strong growth in the country’s technology industry.
The increase was driven by growth in software development, business process outsourcing (BPO), software-as-a-service (SaaS), and the gaming industry.
Pakistani IT companies also expanded their presence in Asia-Pacific markets, including Japan and Singapore, helping boost export revenue.
Small and medium-sized technology firms also played an important role by entering new international markets.
Experts say rising global demand for Pakistan’s digital services and expansion into new markets were key factors behind the increase in IT exports.
They added that the growth reflects increasing international confidence in Pakistan’s IT and digital services sector and stronger economic ties with global markets.
