Chinese nationals among 10 killed in blast that targeted their bus in KP’s Upper Kohistan area today.

According to Reuters, the initial reports suggested 8 deaths but another source reported 10 deaths, including four foreigners.

The vehicle was transporting staff that has been working on building the Dasu Dam.

However, it was not immediately clear if the blast was the result of a roadside device or something planted inside the bus.

A senior government official told Reuters on condition of anonymity that the bus plunged into a deep ravine after the blast and caused heavy losses.

One Chinese engineer and one soldier were missing. The rescue operation is launched and the entire government machinery has been mobilised to rescue the injured by air ambulance.

He further said six Chinese nationals, a paramilitary soldier and one local were killed. Several people were injured.

Later, another news source updated that the blast killed at least 10 people.

The vehicle was transporting staff that has been working on building the Dasu Dam.

However, it reported two FC personnel and four foreigners among the 10 dead.

Meanwhile, the rescue team shifted bodies and the injured to the Rural Health Centre Dasu.

Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Arif said that concerned authorities are investigating to know details.
