COAS attends funeral prayers of martyred officers

The funeral prayers of Pakistan Army officers, who were martyred yesterday in Mir Ali area of ​​North Waziristan, were offered today.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations of Pakistan Army, the funeral prayers of Lieutenant Colonel Syed Kashif Shaheed and Captain Muhammad Ahmad Shaheed were offered at Chaklala Garrison.

According to ISPR, President Asif Zardari, Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, foreign minister, interior minister, senior serving military and civil officers also participated in the funeral prayer.

ISPR said that 39-year-old Lt. Col. Syed Kashif Ali Shaheed was a resident of Karachi while 23-year-old Captain Muhammad Ahmad Badar Shaheed hailed from Talagang.

The bodies of the martyrs have been brought to their native areas where they will be buried with full military honours.

On this occasion, President Zardari said in his statement that Pakistan Army has continuously maintained the ideals of faith, unity and discipline. Pakistan Army has always established high standards of professionalism and loyalty in the war against terrorism, he added.

He said that the brave sons never hesitated to sacrifice for the defence of the motherland and the entire nation stands with our armed forces.

He further said that the great sacrifice is an example of the unwavering determination of brave sons which is present in the form of their martyrdom.
