Coronavirus infection cases spike as NCOC confirms 2783 fresh cases in the country.

According to National Command and Operation Centre statistics, 39 more people died due to the deadly pandemic.

Moreover, labs conducted 49,247 tests. Positivity ratio remained 5.65 percent.

Meanwhile, the death toll due to pandemic has now reached 22,760.

On the other hand, Minister for Planning Asad Umar addressed a media briefing in Islamabad.

Special Assistant to Prime Minister on National Health Services Dr Faisal Sultan accompanied him.

Asad said the people with both doses of vaccine against COVID have seven times lower risk of getting virus compared to those who are not vaccinated.

Furthermore, he urged the people to get vaccinated against the pandemic.

The minister underlined this as the only way to get rid of the disease.

The Indian variant, he said had worst impact on the whole region but the good news had it if you got vaccinated, the risk would minimize.

He further said the world has praised Pakistan’s strategy to cope with the pandemic.

Therefore in order to maintain this positive image, he urged all Pakistanis to get vaccinated and follow SOPs against the pandemic

Meanwhile, vaccination campaign continues across the country in full swing.
