Dumper truck runs over woman in Karachi

KARACHI: In yet another traffic accident, a 23-year-old girl was crushed to death by a speedy dumper in Gulistan-e-Johar area of the metropolis, GTV News reported.

The incident occurred near Numaan Avenue apartments situated at Johar Mor area of Karachi.

According to police, the woman, identified as Sara, was riding a motorcycle when she lost control and fell onto the road. A dumper truck, traveling approximately 20 feet behind her, failed to stop in time and ran over her.

According to eyewitnesses, the motorcycle skidded due to slippery road.

The police have completed the necessary formalities and handed over the body to the family.

Sarah was a resident of Block 10, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, and worked at a private company on Shara-e-Faisal.

Meanwhile, police have seized the dumper truck and launched search operation to arrest the driver who ran away after the incident.

Yesterday, at least two people were killed when a speeding car rams into people on Karachi’s Karsaz road.

As per the police, the incident occurred when a high-speed white Prado, driven by a woman, lost control and rammed into a motorcycle, car, and several pedestrians.

Following the accident, the rescue sources rushed to the scene where they confirmed that two individuals had died on the spot, while four others sustained serious injuries, were taken to a nearby hospital for medical services.

Meanwhile, a case was lodged against the female driver involved in the accident.
