Ebrahim Raeisi elected President of Iran as final official results announced.

Iranian Interior Ministry released the official and final result of the June 18 presidential election held amid Corona related restrictions.

Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli announced results, while addressing a press conference in Tehran on Saturday evening.

He said 28,933,004 voters have cast their ballots in the Friday election.

He further said that with over 59.31 million eligible voters, the turnout stood at 48.4 percent.

The winner, Seyed Ebrahim Raeisi, has garnered 17,926,345 votes.

While 3,726,870 ballots registered as invalid votes, the runner-up, Mohsen Rezaee, has won 3,412,712 votes, according to Rahmani Fazli.

Furthermore, he said Abdolnasser Hemmati and Seyed Amir Hossein Qazizadeh Hashemi, have gained 2,427,201 and 999,718 votes, respectively.

Currently, Raeisi, 60, is serving Iran as Judiciary Chief.

The 13th presidential election held simultaneously with the 6th City and Village Councils elections.

Moreover, midterm elections for the 5th Assembly of Experts, and midterm elections for the 11th Parliament also held simultaneously.

Meanwhile, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei praised the Iranian people as the major winner of Friday’s nationwide elections.

In a message released on Saturday, Ayatollah Khamenei hailed the great Iranian nation on its victory in the June 18 elections.
