Elon Musk takes a big decision, which X users may dislike

Social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, is undergoing another major change that users will not like at all.

The Elon Musk-owned platform has decided to remove the repost (retweet), like and reply buttons in its posts. This new design was mentioned by an X user and then confirmed by Elon Musk.

Musk said that it will be possible to like and reply by swiping from the right or left side instead of buttons.

After removing like and other buttons, only the view count option will be visible in the posts.

It’s not clear how long this might last, but the change is being tested in X’s iOS app.

It should be noted that after buying X in October 2022, Elon Musk has made a lot of changes in this social media platform. The biggest change was made in 2023 when it changed its name from Twitter to X.

Recently, the public likes option in X has been made private. That means it is no longer possible to see who liked a post in X, but the like count is still there.

But now Elon Musk has confirmed the removal of repost and like buttons from posts.

He had been indicating this change for a long time. In October 2023, he said in an X post that we will remove all action buttons (like, repost and others) from the X timeline and only show view count.

However, Elon Musk has also indicated that if the new change does not prove to be effective, the decision can be taken back.
