Singer Armaan Malik recently looked back on his early days in Bollywood, giving credit to Salman Khan for playing a key role in his music debut.
In an exclusive conversation with Farah Khan, the Jab Tak hitmaker shared how his weight loss journey began after the Bajrangi Bhaijaan star suggested he appear shirtless in one of the music videos for Jai Ho.
He recalled, “That is how our Bollywood debut happened. He said we would be shirtless, but I told him that would not be possible. We both were healthy kids.”
Armaan further revealed that Salman advised him and his brother Amaal Malik to undergo a strict dance and workout routine, leading him to lose around 10–15 kgs for the cameo.
“I had the craze to become India’s Justin Bieber. Salman bhai said that I should not release this album because he wanted to use one or two songs for his [upcoming] film Jai Ho,” he added.
The singer concluded by saying that Salman later clarified he was only teasing them about the shirtless appearance and had no intention of making them do it in the final video.
