Sheema Kermani’s Arrest Video Goes Viral, Celebrities and Activists Speak Out

Pakistani artist, dancer and social activist Sheema Kermani since 80s, she has been working with Tehreek e Niswan. She always speak about women rights. Yesterday afternoon, Sheema went to Press Club Karachi along Aurat March organizers to planning for raise voice on 10 May against Sindh Govt for giving NOC. But there she was mistreated by law enforcement forces and taken into custody after failing to obtain an NOC.

As the video went viral all-over social media, it gained a huge wave of online reactions, celebrities and activists criticizing the arrest of the elderly artist.

On Instagram, actress Sania Saeed alleged that no warrants were produced and no justification was given to the arrestees.

Mishi Khan also took to Instagram and said that it is outrageous that a woman is dragged only for hosting a press conference.

Sheema Kermani has also released her statement on video. She revealed that the police dragged her, her saari was torn and she was kicked. She is a peace loving activist and they just wanted an NOC which Sindh Government has still not issued. She is also disappointed how they were treated in Sindh which never happened before.
