Viral Jana Nayagan Intro Showing Vijay as ‘Honourable CM of Tamil Nadu’ Sparks AI Debate Online

A viral video allegedly featuring the title card from Thalapathy Vijay’s upcoming film Jana Nayagan has sparked major discussion online, with social media users debating whether the clip is genuine or created using artificial intelligence tools.

The release date of Jana Nayagan remains uncertain after reports suggested the film’s planned Pongal release was postponed due to pending certification issues with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Following the recent success of Vijay’s political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), in the Tamil Nadu assembly elections, anticipation surrounding the film has grown significantly among fans.

The viral clips, reportedly recorded inside theatres in Tamil Nadu, show an edited title card displaying the message, “Honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu C. Joseph Vijay in Jana Nayagan.” However, there has been no official confirmation regarding the authenticity of the footage, and many online users suspect the visuals may have been digitally altered using AI technology.

Videos circulating on social media captured enthusiastic reactions from fans inside theatres as the title card appeared on screen. Although the exact theatre location has not been confirmed, the clips have spread widely across online platforms.

Directed by H. Vinoth, Jana Nayagan is reportedly based on political themes, which allegedly contributed to delays in certification and release. The film also stars Pooja Hegde and Bobby Deol and is currently expected to release on May 15.

The viral video emerged shortly after TVK reportedly secured 108 seats in the 234-member Tamil Nadu Assembly, placing the party just short of the majority mark. Reports also suggested Vijay was expected to take oath as Chief Minister. However, sources later stated that the party still lacks official confirmed figures, while the Governor has reportedly remained unconvinced about the numbers. Vijay is also said to have met the Governor again on Thursday morning.
