The film ‘Kala Hiran: The Battle for Legacy‘ has grown significantly, with reports linking it to Bollywood actor Salman Khan. The issue has sparked legal action and public debate from multiple sides.

Indian Media reported, Salman Khan has moved to court seeking a ban on the film’s release. According to his lawyers, he film relates to the 1998 blackbuck poaching incident and unlawfully exploits his name and personal image. The case is scheduled for hearing on June 19, and the court has already issued notices to the producers and other involved parties.

At the same time, the film’s producer, Amit Jani, has sent a legal notice to veteran actor Govind Namdev. in his notice, required a public apology within a seven-day deadline as well as compensation amounting to 50 lakh Indian rupees. The producer has warned that further legal steps will be taken if Namdev does not respond.

The controversy increased further after Govind Namdev claimed in an interview that he was misled about the film. He said he was initially told the project was titled “Sumbal” and had a different storyline. He stated that he realized that the complete film was not the same as the version he was informed about. He also said he was assured that the story would strictly follow court records, but that was not the case in the final version.

However, the producer has rejected these claims. Amit Jani insists that Govind Namdev was fully aware of the script from the beginning. He also stated that the actor had read the script and even filmed courtroom scenes, which clearly explained the story’s background. The producer alleges that Namdev is now trying to distance himself from the project due to the ongoing controversy.

Despite the dispute, the filmmakers maintain that “Black Deer” is a fictional work. They say all characters and events are imaginary and any similarity to real people or incidents is coincidental, even though the film is believed to be inspired by the blackbuck poaching case.
