Prince William, King Charles Comfort England After FIFA World Cup Semi-Final Defeat

FIFA World Cup 2026 final came to end, with a 2-1 defeat against Argentina, following the loss Prince William and King Charles offered words of encouragement after England’s journey.

Moments after the final whistle on Wednesday, despite the disappointing defeat, Britain future king, Prince William took to X (formerly Twitter) and commended the Three Lions for their outstanding performance during the tournament.

William wrote, “Gutted. England, you gave it everything and we are all so proud of you.”

King Charles also took to the Royal Family’s official Instagram account shared words of encouragement after their narrow loss.

The monarch wrote, “Commiserations to Harry and the team. While you Three Lions may be licking your wounds today, you remain the pride of a nation – and will rise again.”

The Three Lions looked meant for the World Cup final when Anthony Gordon passed the Three Lions a second-half central.

Even though England’s lead, Argentina struggled back late in the match, as Lautaro Martínez won a stoppage-time winner from a Lionel Messi help to safe a 2-1 win and a spot in Sunday’s final alongside with Spain in New Jersey.

England’s defeat also ended Prince William’s plans that,  he is no longer expected to travel to the United States for Sunday’s World Cup final.
