Diljit Dosanjh Supports Students in CJP Protests Despite Past Criticism

The Indian singer  Diljit Dosanjh has stands with students involved in the ongoing protests linked to the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) over alleged NEET irregularities, even though own up that this made him to face more backlash.

On Tuesday, Diljit took his Instagram posted a story about what happened during the student protest was not right and our students should not have been treated that way. He request government to listen to the students’ concerns and demands.

Diljit also knew that his public support might once again attract “anti-national” labels. He said he had already faced such criticism several times in the past, especially during the farmers’ protests.

He wrote “I have already been labelled an ‘anti-national’ many times. Even now, I know I will be called anti-national again. After the farmers’ protest, I faced a lot of backlash and legal problems that I still cannot even discuss. The rest, God is watching everything. May Baba bless everyone.”

Diljit’s support statement hail from at a time when some Bollywood actors were also standing in support of the protesting students. Riteish and Genelia Deshmukh, Bhumi Pednekar, Huma Qureshi, Nandita Das and Shabana Azmi united others in backup the youth-led march toward Parliament.

For the meantime, Diljit has also confronted trials associated to his professional work. His film “Satluj,” in which he played human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra, was reportedly removed from ZEE5 just 48 hours after its release. During a recent live session, Diljit explained that there were some issues connected to the film that he could not yet discuss in public.

Diljit also spoke about the reports surrounding his alleged US citizenship, responding with his usual humor. Responding to fans’ questions about the reports, he jokingly said he would “take a card and colour it green.” without confirming or denying the claims.
