Andrew Garfield, Monica Barbaro’s New AI Movie Gets First Look

Andrew Garfield and Monica Barbaro are set to appear together on the big screen in a new film centered on the world of artificial intelligence.

On September 8, Neon released the first look at the upcoming movie, featuring Garfield as OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Barbaro as former OpenAI CTO Mira Murati. The film explores one of the most dramatic weeks in Altman’s life in 2023, when he was unexpectedly removed from OpenAI before returning days later.

The 1-minute-17-second teaser also touches on the early development of OpenAI and the launch of ChatGPT. Garfield’s performance has already caught fans’ attention, especially with his dramatic dialogue.

“We opened Pandora’s box together,” his character says in the teaser.

He also brings an influential caution about the future, saying that countries could collapse and industries could breakdown as AI changes the world.

While Barbaro plays as Mira Muratia pkayed as a key character, meanwhile she does not seem in the recently released teaser.

Yura Borisov as OpenAI co-founder Ilya Sutskever, while Ike Barinholtz portrays Elon Musk are also featured in the movie.

Since February 2025, the movie leads have reportedly been dating and now they both appeared together on one screen in the AI-focused project directed by Luca Guadagnino.
