Mahira Khan at TIFF: Pakistani Star Celebrates Cinema and New Chapter of Motherhood

Pakistani actress Mahira Khan made a strong proud and confident appearance at the Toronto International Film Festival for representing Pakistan and South Asia while embracing an essential new stage in her personal life.

The actress presented at the event as a part of its community Impact programming and moderated a conversation about storytelling, representation and the experiences of South Asian people around the world. She will also be presented with the Muslim Excellence in Cinema and Art Award for her achievements in cinema.

Mahira said she was thrilled to be part of TIFF, for her the experience is truly especial because it gave her an opportunity to represent Pakistan to highlight its own stories with a global audience.

Not only TIFF, Mahira also appeared in the the world premiere of Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother, which is directed by Bassam Tariq a Pakistani origin filmmaker and starring Oscar-winning actor Mahershala Ali.

To filled a delicate drop to her presence at event, as she shared the news of her second pregnancy, after 17 years becoming a mother to Azlan.

To disclose the news of pregnancy, Mahira said it feel her a little nervous because she normally keeps her personal life away from the public eye. She also shared joyfully that picking a red-carpet outfit while expecting was a new experience for her.

Her TIFF appearance beautifully combines two important parts of her life — representing Pakistan on a global platform and embracing motherhood once again
