King Charles Sends Independence Day Wishes to Botswana on 60th Anniversary

King Charles has sent a personal message to Botswana celebrating the friendship between the two countries and sharing his best wishes with the nation.

On behalf of himself and Queen Camilla, Charles sent warm greetings to Botswana’s President and people ahead of the country’s Independence Day merriments.

The king also welcomed the coming visit of the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, who are planned to travel to Botswana in early October to take part in the independence festivities.

In the king’s message, he admired the rising bond between the United Kingdom and Botswana, saying their friendship keep on rooted in shared Commonwealth values and mutual respect.

He also expressed hope for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in November, noting that it would proposal an opportunity to celebrate the close ties and common values shared by the two nations.

King Charles highlighted the warmth between the people of both countries, pointing to their joint commitment to sustainable development and conservation for current and future generations.

He concluded by saying that he and Queen Camilla were pleased to send their best wishes to all Batswana, wishing them a happy Independence Day and a year filled with peace, prosperity and success.
