Kate Middleton Surprises Sussex Residents With Special Village Hall Visit
Kate Middleton, surprised citizens in Sussex with a exceptional visit to a village hall on September 30, where she merged locals to celebrate the 60th anniversary of a community lunch club.
Around 50 residents gathered at Pulborough Village Hall for the celebration. Kate enjoyed lunch with them, which included red pepper and sweet potato soup, crusty bread, cheese and crinkle-cut crisps.
During the meal, resident Lynda Jones offered to share her crisps with the princess. Kate responded warmly, saying, “What a lovely way to make friends.” Jones later described Kate as “a natural” and highlighted how important the weekly gatherings are, especially for older people who have lost their partners.
Earlier in the day, Kate also joined the West Sussex Minibus Service as it marked 50 years of helping people in rural communities. She helped collect passengers, including 94-year-old Stella Drewett, who joked that the trip meant “one day of not cooking.”
The royal visit also brought smiles to local families. Outside the hall, Kate joined three-year-old Arthur and one-year-old Albie in a playful kerb-jumping game. Their mother, Thea Botley, said she was surprised when Arthur held Kate’s hand.
Pulborough Village Hall later shared its happiness on Facebook, calling the royal visit “an absolute honour.”
