Excessive sweating makes skin more sensitive, shows research

06 October, 2024 13:45

Research has revealed that if someone sweats excessively, his skin is likely to be sensitive.

A team led by Adam Friedman of George Washington University and Linking Zhang of Virginia Tech used machine learning models to examine survey data from more than 600 people. These were the people who sweated profusely.

The study found that those who were observed to sweat more had more sensitive skin than others.

It should be noted that the condition of excessive sweating is called primary hyperhidrosis.

People with primary hyperhidrosis sweat up to four times more than needed to cool the body, even when they are not exposed to high temperatures or exercise.

This condition affects specific areas such as hands, feet, face and armpits.
