Minister Shaukat Tarin stressed on removing bottlenecks in farm labour, processing, transport and logistics to transform the agriculture sector. He recommended this for re visiting the farm-to-end-consumer chain.

He was chairing a meeting of the Sub-Committee of Economic Advisory Council on Agriculture in Islamabad today (Monday).
The committee reviewed the entire food supply chain from farmer to end-consumer for minimizing the price differential between wholesale and retail prices of basic commodities.
Key focus remains to work out a regulatory mechanism to ensure that the farmer gets a fair share and undue profiteering is curtailed effectively.
Moreover, the Finance Minister encouraged members of the committee to come up with innovative ideas to ensure price stability in key commodities of daily use.
Pakistan Stock Exchange loses 186 points
Meanwhile, Pakistan Stock Exchange lost 186 points as it closes at 44076 points today.
The KSE 100-index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed bearish trend on Monday.
It lost 186.15 points, with negative change of 0.42 per cent.
The PSX close at 44,076.20 points against 44,262.35 points on the last working day.
A total of 238,440,085 shares traded during the day compared to the trade of 293,746,179 shares the previous day.
However, the price of shares stood at Rs11.317 billion against Rs13.770 billion the previous day.
