FM Qureshi tells NA on Pakistan commitment to reduce US Iran tension. Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Pakistan committed to play a positive role in reducing tensions between the United States and Iran.

He said this, while speaking in a meeting of National Assembly Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs in Islamabad today (Thursday).

Furthermore, he apprised them of his staying in contact with all key countries to de-escalate situation in the Middle East.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that Prime Minister Imran Khan will visit Malaysia next month.

Moreover, he said that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will visit Pakistan.

He also spoke on grim situation in India. He said Modi government has imposed discriminatory amendments which have curtailed rights of minorities.

PM assigns FM peace diplomacy

Qureshi said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed him to visit Iran, Saudi Arabia and the United States.

Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi announced this in a video statement.

He further said that the visits aim at pursuing Pakistan’s desire for peace and to settle matters.

Moreover, he said Pakistan will play whatever role it can do to protect the region from war.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan also called for de-escalation.

He said this, while talking to Oman’s Minister for Endowment and Religious Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Abdullah Assalami today.
