Gas supply to remain suspended in these Karachi areas

Karachiites get ready to face gas disruption as it would remain suspended for 24 hours due to maintenance and new pipeline work in many areas of Karachi.

The gas supply will be stopped for 24 hours starting from 5am on July 28 to 5am on Monday, causing temporary closures in several areas of the port city.

The interruption is due to the connection of a 31km long transmission pipeline with a 24-inch diameter to the total gas system.

Here is the list of affected areas:

Surjani Town

North Karachi

Manghopir

Qasba Colony

Orangi Town

North Nazimabad

Federal B Area

Gulberg

Buffer Zone

SITE area

Baldia Town

Etihad Town

Mauripur

Gulshan-e-Maimar

Ahsanabad

SITE Superhighway and surrounding areas

A spokesperson for the gas company has confirmed the development stating that gas supply will be suspended in these areas during the specified period.

“Residents and businesses in the affected zones are advised to take necessary precautions and make alternative arrangements to mitigate the impact of the temporary gas supply disruption,” he added.
