German tourist robbed in Lahore

A German tourist was robbed near the Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore on Saturday.

A brazen robbery of a German tourist has prompted local authorities to launch a thorough investigation, raising concerns about the safety of visitors in the provincial capital.

Berg Florian, a 27-year-old cyclist traveling through Pakistan, was attacked by two unidentified assailants while camping near the airport in the early hours of the morning.

The robbers, who approached Florian’s tent around 1:30 AM, demanded cash and began rummaging through his belongings. When Florian attempted to escape, one of the attackers assaulted him, forcing him to surrender his valuables.

The stolen items, estimated to be worth approximately Rs500,000, include a $2,000 camera, $3,000 AirPods, a $500 iPhone, Rs5,000 in cash, and a power bank.

A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered, and officials are utilizing CCTV footage and other evidence to track down the suspects.

Meanwhile, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Operations Muhammad Faisal Kamran has taken notice of the incident, instructing the police to expedite their efforts to apprehend the culprits.
