Govt launches free transportation for female students, teachers

The Ministry of Education has launched the Pink Bus Service, a dedicated transportation system for female students and teachers in Islamabad.

The initiative, directed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, aims to empower girls’ education and women in the capital city by providing free, safe, and easy transportation.

Starting August 7, the pink buses will be available at Islamabad’s bus stops, covering all major routes. The service will connect rural areas to urban centers, making travel convenient and secure for female students and teachers.

The Ministry of Education will ensure regular monitoring and evaluation to make the operation successful.

Earlier, the secretary of education announced that the ministry would repair and make operational 30% of the 385 buses currently not in use due to various reasons. These buses will provide free transportation services to female teachers and students.
