Govt supports economic empowerment of the underprivileged women through Ehsaas safety net.

Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin expressed the government’s firm commitment to pro-poor agenda.

He said, while speaking at a meeting to finalize modalities for disbursement of targeted subsidies in Islamabad on Thursday.

He said that the government supports economic empowerment of the under-privileged women through Ehsaas safety net.

Shaukat Tarin spoke on primary objective of Ehsaas safety net.

He mentioned poverty alleviation, socio-economic uplift and financial inclusion of women from marginalized sections of the society among them.

Meanwhile, SAPM on Social Protection and Poverty Alleviation also briefed the meeting.

The SAPM briefed about different proposals which remain under consideration for replacing the untargeted subsidies with the targeted ones.

Proposals come in compliance with the directives of the Prime Minister to facilitate the under-privileged with more focused and extended coverage.

Meanwhile, Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin has said the government is taking all stakeholders on board.

He was referring to evolving consensus and coming up with innovative ideas to overcome economic challenges.

Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan

Vice President of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan” Ashfaq Tola who called on him in Islamabad today.

He met Tareen to present proposals on “Model Federal Budget 21-22”.

Moreover, they discussed the ICAP team’s proposals for the economic growth and development of the country.

Besides, the Vice President ICAP briefed the Minister about the sector-wise Budget Proposals.

The Advisory Committee of the ICAP formulated those proposals for the first time.

He felicitated the Finance Minister on assuming new responsibilities and extended invite to be a Chief Guest at ICAP webinars and also presented the Coffee Table Book on the occasion.
