Heavy rain and urban flooding risk looms over Karachi

Under the new monsoon system, there is a possibility of heavy rain in entire Sindh including Karachi.

Speaking to local TV, Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz said that the new system will cover the whole of Sindh, due to which there is a possibility of heavy rains in Karachi on August 27 and 28, while due to heavy rains there is also a fear of urban flooding in the city.

Jawad Memon further said that a low pressure system has formed near West Bengal, which can cause rain in East Sindh including Karachi in the coming days.

He added this monsoon system may enter East Sindh on August 26, under which there will be a possibility of rain in province including Karachi from August 26 to 27.
