Heeramandi season 2 begins productions

After the success of the blockbuster Heeramandi, the production of the season 2 is under way under with Sanjay Leela Bhansali at the chair.

The development was confirmed by Subrata Chakraborty – production designer – in an interview stating it is too early to comment on the commencement of the shooting.

“We have initiated the set design for the upcoming season, but the shooting schedule is yet to be finalized,” Chakraborty explained.

He added that Bhansali will announce the shooting dates for the show after completing his current commitments.

Moreover, Indian media speculated that the director would soon announce the release date for the Heeramandi sequel as the pre-production is at full swing.

Earlier, Bhansali himself also confirmed about the project earlier this month.

There is not much information available about the storyline of the season 2, which is expected to take an intriguing turn as the courtesans relocate from Lahore to Mumbai and Kolkata following the partition of India.
