Hezbollah targets Israel’s army base with drones

06 October, 2024 10:21

Hezbollah has claimed that it launched a “squadron of attack drones” targeting the Israeli army’s Samson unit’s base near Lake Tabarayya.

The group said in a statement the attack specifically hit officers and soldiers and described the base as a command equipment centre and a regional equipment unit.

Hezbollah also made a claim that the drones successfully hit their targets with precision.

The Israeli army said it detected approximately 30 launches from Lebanese territory in the Kiryat Shmona area and added some of the launches were intercepted.

Meanwhile, at least 18 people were killed and dozens of others hurt in an Israeli air strike on a Gaza mosque early on Sunday.

The strike on the mosque, near the Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip, came as the war between Israel and Hamas in the Palestinian enclave approaches its first anniversary.

Eyewitnesses said the number of casualties could rise as the mosque was being used to house displaced people.
