How many Pakistanis have made online friends, reveals survey

Gallup Pakistan, a public opinion polling agency, has released a new survey.

The survey was conducted from June 28 to July 10, in which more than 700 people were polled.

The survey by Gallup Pakistan revealed that 60 per cent of Pakistanis are away from social networking apps including Facebook, Instagram and Tik Tok and said they don’t have an account.

However, 40 per cent reported having an account on these apps and using them heavily.

According to the study, 62 per cent of Pakistani youth under the age of 30 are more active on these apps, while only 30 per cent above the age of 30 are active.

Pakistani men are ahead of women in using social media apps, with 45 per cent of men and 35 per cent of women saying they use Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.

22 per cent of Pakistanis said they have made friends online through apps, while 76 per cent said they have not made any online friends.
