ICC admits NY stadium wicket not upto standard

07 June, 2024 10:55

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has admitted that the wicket of the New York Stadium is not up to standard.

ICC said that the wicket of New York’s Nassau Stadium did not show the continuity that everyone expected. The best teams are working to improve the quality of the wicket for the remaining matches

Former England captain Michael Vaughan wrote on social media platform X that it is good to introduce the game of cricket in America but it is unacceptable for the players to play on this substandard pitch.

Mickey Arthur, the former coach of the Pakistan cricket team, also wrote on X that New York’s pitch is very bad.

The match between Pakistan and India in New York is scheduled on June 9. ICC is looking to improve the wicket ahead of the high-voltage clash between India and Pakistan.
