14 June, 2024 12:20

District and Sessions Court Judge Afzal Majuka has observed that if he remained alive, he would decide on the appeals in the Iddat case within 10 days.

Judge Afzal Majuka heard the appeals against the sentence of PTI founder Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi for early hearing and the suspension of the sentence.

Bushra Bibi’s consul Riaz Gul appeared in the court and presented the written judgment of the Islamabad High Court.

The lawyer pleaded that the direction has arrived and hearing be fixed for tomorrow. To which, Judge Afzal Majuka observed that if he remained alive, he would decide in 10 days, adding tomorrow is not possible as there are many bail applications in queue. Will decide the case even if the other party does not appear, he added.

Yesterday, Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb while presiding over the hearing ordered the sessions court to resolve Bushra Bibi’s plea for suspension of the sentence within 10 days. He also  directed a decision on the appeal within a month.
