PTI founder Imran Khan has threatened to go on hunger strike over ill-treatment at jail.

According to PTI sources, Imran Khan has decided to go on a hunger strike over ill-treatment at Adiala Jail and in this connection he will give a date of the protest after consulting with the party.

They added that Imran Khan called the party leaders yesterday. The PTI founder waited inside jail while the party leaders outside the prison for three hours but the meeting was not allowed.

The former prime minister issued instructions to the party leaders, after denying a meeting with them, in which he has stopped the leaders from bringing internal differences to the public.

It should be remembered that the PTI founder had called the two groups to jail yesterday to end the differences.

Speaking to the media outside Adiala jail, the PTI leaders said they were denied a meeting with party’s founder in jail despite waiting for about three hours outside the prison.

The PTI founder has been facing a number of charges ranging from corruption to terrorism since his ousted from government back in April 2022. Imran Khan became the only prime minister to be voted out in the country’s history.

He has been in jail since August, 2023 and was convicted in some cases ahead of the general election held on Feb 8 this year. Imran Khan is also facing dozens of other cases.

The PTI founder’s release from jail was seemingly closed last month, but a court in Islamabad rejected his petition for the suspension of sentence in the Iddat case.
