Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan’s sit-in at Rawalpind’s Liaquat Bagh has entered its fourth day today against the increase in electricity prices, excessive taxes and inflation.

The enthusiasm of the participants is maintained and slogans are being raised. Women also became part of the sit-in and a separate pandal was established for them. Metro bus service has resumed today for the fourth day after three days of suspension.

Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Hafiz Naeemur Rahman has invited traders, teachers and labour organizations to participate in the sit-in from today. There will be an important round of negotiations between Jamaat-e-Islami and government teams today.

Rain has lashed the twin cities causing problems for the participants of the sit-in.
Earlier, the Jamaat-e-Islami had presented its position in the initial negotiations. The government team will give a detailed answer today. Sources say that positive progress is expected today.

Due to the sit-in, commercial business activities on adjacent markets and roads have affected. The traffic is also jammed.

Jamaat-e-Islami has rejected the government’s request to shift the sit-in from Liaquat Bagh Chowk to Liaquat Bagh and said that the protest will continue towards Islamabad from here.
