JI holds countrywide protests today against loadshedding, inflation

 The Jamaat-e-Islami will hold countrywide protests today against inflation, loadshedding and inflated electricity bills.

According to the JI spokesman, on the appeal of Hafiz Naeem, there will be protests against the loadshedding, inflated electricity bills and inflation in all districts, major highways and important public places.

He further said that Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Ameer Munem Zafar Khan has announced a sit-in in Karachi on June 26.

Addressing a press conference, Hafiz Naeem said that he rejects the budget made by the IMF. The country has been destroyed due to the wrong policies of the government. There will be protests in the whole country and people are requested to come out, he added.

He questioned why taxes are not collected from landlords.

The JI chief said that the situation has become very difficult for the poor and disadvantaged people. Children who were supposed to go to school are now working and taxes have been increased up to 35 per cent, which will not be accepted.
