JI sit-in enters 6th day amid announcement to launch protest in Karachi from today
The Jamaat-e-Islami’s sit-in in Rawalpindi’s Liaquat Bagh has entered its sixth day for the reduction in electricity prices.
The second round of talks between Jamaat-e-Islami and the government will be held at 3 pm today.
Addressing the sit-in, Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Ameer Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has said that paying the electricity bill has now become impossible for 98 per cent of the people.
He further said that the should people pay the electricity bill or send their children to schools? They are going to start a sit-in in Karachi today and a sit-in in Lahore will also be announced soon.
Hafiz Naeem said that the business community is with us and with their advice we will go on a nationwide wheel jam strike.
