Karachi to remain hot, humid today

Karachi continue to be in the grip of extremely hot and humid weather as sea breezes remain blocked on Tuesday.

“Today the temperature is expected to remain between 38°C and 40°C, with an estimated 76% humidity ratio in the air,” said the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

The lowest temperature may fall to 30.5°C.

On Monday, the temperature in the metropolis felt like 51°C around 2pm.

Chief PMD meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz said that the port city would remain under the grip of extremely hot and humid weather for the next three days.

Karachi records hottest day of 2024

Meanwhile, the port city experienced its hottest day of the year, with temperatures soaring to record 43 degrees Celsius.

The locality of Gulistan-e-Johar emerged as the hottest spot in Karachi, with temperatures peaking at an intense 43.7 degrees Celsius.

The area around the airport was the second hottest, recording a temperature of 42.8 degrees Celsius, meanwhile, Shahrah-e-Faisal was the third hottest location with the mercury reaching 40.5 degrees Celsius.

The Met Office has warned that the weather will remain hot and humid in the city for three days.

The weather department has further advised citizens to take precautions as the city is going through a partial heat wave.
