Khalistan referendum held in California

The second phase of voting in referendum for the establishment of Khalistan in the US state of California has been completed.

A total of 200,000 Sikhs voted in the referendum while several thousand Sikhs were unable to cast their vote due to time running out in the first phase.

Anti-India slogans were also raised during the voting, while the next phase of the referendum will be held on July 28 in Calgary, Canada.

Sikh leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun said that India is involved in genocide of Sikhs and they will make every possible effort to get freedom from India.

Earlier,  Sikh community protest outside Indian consulate in New York, while braving cold weather.

Hundreds of Sikhs staged a demonstration to protest new agricultural laws in India that they fear will adversely affect Punjabi farmers.

Furthermore, they pledged to continue their support to the protesting farmers in India.

Meanwhile, protesters then drove in a cavalcade of cars to the Indian Consulate General.
