Lahore High Court Bar observes strike today

The Lahore High Court Bar has given a strike call today on the issue of division of civil courts.

A joint general house meeting of lawyers’ organizations was held at Lahore High Court Bar in which Vice Chairman Kamran Bashir Mughal and other lawyers including Ahsan Bhoon participated, during which police violence on Wednesday was condemned.

President High Court Bar Asad Manzoor Butt said that there will be a strike in the High Court on Friday (today) as well, while he also demanded the government to release the funds for the bars.

Meanwhile, Punjab Bar Council Vice Chairman Kamran Bashir Mughal said that the lawyers’ rally was peaceful and terrorism cases against lawyers should be withdrawn.

Apart from this, after the general house meeting, the lawyers also took out a rally from the court premises to GPO Chowk.
