Linkin Park reunite with new music

06 September, 2024 19:50

Linkin Park has made a triumphant return with a new lineup and music, marking their first new releases since the passing of lead singer Chester Bennington in 2017.

The band’s livestream event introduced Emily Armstrong as the new lead vocalist and Colin Brittain as the drummer, joining returning members Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Phoenix, and Joe Hahn.

The new lineup performed their new single, ‘The Emptiness Machine,’ and showcased Armstrong’s vocal prowess, which pays homage to Bennington’s style without imitation. Shinoda shared vocal duties with Armstrong, demonstrating the band’s continued evolution.

Linkin Park announced their new album, ‘From Zero,’ set to release on November 15, and revealed the inspiration behind the title.

“Before Linkin Park, our first band name was Xero. This album title refers to both this humble beginning and the journey we’re currently undertaking,” Shinoda explained.

Armstrong, formerly of Dead Sara, and Brittain, a seasoned songwriter and producer, bring fresh talent to the band. Brittain replaces original drummer Rob Bourdon, who has decided to step away from the band.

The band expressed excitement about their new lineup and music, stating, “We feel really empowered with this new lineup and the vibrant and energized new music we’ve made together.”

Linkin Park also announced the ‘From Zero World Tour,’ featuring six arena shows in various cities worldwide.
