Longest day, shortest night of year today

Today (June 21) is the longest day and shortest night of the year.

Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz said that the day in Islamabad will be 14: 32 minutes long while the night 9:28 minutes.

Sardar Sarfraz added that the day in Karachi will be 13: 41 minutes long while the night will be 10: 19 minutes.

He further stated that after July 1, the length of day will begin decreasing gradually, with December 22 being the shortest day and longest night of the year.

June 21 marks the summer solstice, the longest day of the year for the Northern Hemisphere. This astronomical event occurs when the Earth’s axial tilt is most inclined towards the Sun, which results in the longest day and the shortest night.
