Malaika Arora’s father commits suicide

Bollywood actress Malaika Arora’s father, Anil Arora, has committed suicide, local media reported Wednesday.

The Mumbai Police said that he jumped from the terrace of his Bandra residence. An investigation is underway to uncover the reasons behind the incident.

The family has yet to release an official statement regarding the heartbreaking event.

A video shared on social media shows the actress’ ex-husband, Arbaaz Khan, outside Anil Arora’s home, discussing the situation with police officials.

Further details are still awaited as authorities continue to investigate.

It is reported that Malaika Arora visited her parents just a day before the incident.

According to News18, Malaika’s mother, Joyce, in her statement to the police said that Anil would routinely sit in the balcony and read the newspapers every morning.

She said, however, on Wednesday morning, when she saw her ex-husband’s slippers in the living room, she went to look for him in the balcony. When she could not find him there, she leaned over and saw below.

“The building watchman was shouting for help,” she told Police.

Joyce revealed that he was not suffering from illness. He only had some knee pain. He had taken VRS from Merchant Navy.

The couple had parted ways when Malaika was just 11 years old.
