Mutton- the most preferred meat of Pakistanis

Mutton (goat meat) has become the most preferred meat amongst Pakistanis.

41 per cent Pakistani said they like eating mutton and beef and chicken come second and third, respectively, a recent study conducted by a leading survey research agency with its headquarters in Washington reveals.

“What kind of meat do you like the most?”, the question was asked, during the study, to a nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the country. 41 per cent said ‘goat meat’, 25 per cent ‘beef’, 23 per cent ‘chicken’, and 11 per cent said that they did not know or gave no response.

The survey was carried out among a sample of 1,023 men and women. The respondents belonged to urban and rural areas of all four provinces of the country

It took 15 days to complete the survey, whose error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 percent at the 95 per cent confidence level.

The methodology of telephonic survey (CATI) was used for the collection of data during the study.
