Naseem Shah set to suffer over Rs40mn loss

13 July, 2024 13:10

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Saturday refused to grant a no objection certificate (NoC) to pacer Naseem Shah.

He was scheduled to play in The Hundred league which is starting in the third week of July.

The decision was made to protect the pacer from injuries and work load management as he is already facing some fitness issues.

Given Pakistan’s hectic and continuous cricket schedule for the new season, the PCB is unwilling to take any risks with Naseem’s fitness.

He had signed a lucrative contract to represent Birmingham Phoenix in the tournament.

Naseem was included in the £125,000 category, and his absence from the league will result in a financial loss of over four crore rupees.
